SUMMER LACROSSE CAMPS

San Francisco City Lacrosse Club provides the following list of camps in the spirit of encouraging its players to continue building their lax skills in the off-season. We do not endorse any particular camp and believe each camp has its unique strengths. There are some newcomers to the scene while others have a long history in the Bay Area. They range in location including Marin, East Bay and the Peninsula (unfortunately, none in SF). Most if not all boast an impressive list of coaches from high schools, colleges and universities with outstanding lacrosse programs across the US. There are many factors to consider in choosing a camp for your child and therefore it is incumbent upon each family to do the necessary research and due diligence to match a camp with your son or daughter’s current abilities, needs and interests.

City Lacrosse Club of San Francisco is home to the Outlaws, a lacrosse club committed to teaching the sport of lacrosse to boys and girls, agesseven through high school.  Our goal is to develop within all of our players a respect and love of the game and an appreciation of the skills and teamwork needed to be successful on the field.  We have a top-notch line-up of new and returning coaches this season who share a passion for the sport, a love of teaching and a desire to inspire  boys’ and girls’ in the development of their lacrosse skills.  Our coaches are dedicated to creating an atmosphere of fun and mutual support for all players. Thank you for entrusting your kids to us and we look forward to an active and enriching lacrosse season.

New Divisional and Age Breakdowns for 2009 Season
The NCJLA Board of Directors has adopted new divisions for the 2009 Lacrosse season. With the growth of lacrosse on the West coast over the last several years, there has been an increase in the overall level of play in Northern California youth lacrosse. In an effort to gain consistency with other lacrosse organizations in California and beyond (and particularily those we play against), the Board has decided to create divisions that are used widely at the national level and recognized by US Lacrosse and the Youth Council.

The new divisions for the 2009 season:
U-15 - Must have a 1994 or 1995 birth year
U-13 - Must have a 1996 or 1997 birth year
U-11 - Must have a 1998 or 1999 birth year
U-9 -   Must have a 2000 or 2001 birth year

Boys and girls who are enrolled in 9th through 12th grades automatically are placed on a high school Junior Varsity or Varsity team, regardless of birth year.   In the case of SF City Lacrosse this year, we will have combined JV/Varsity teams, for high school boys and girls.
